I'm really grateful to Joana. She helped me implement a low GI diet for suspected reactive hypoglycemia in a quick time frame. The diet plan was easy to follow and tailored to me. 1 - What made you look for a Dietitian? And why did you choose Joana?
Sara: I was no longer enjoying the way I was eating, also didn’t like my body and I wanted to be a good example for my children. These reasons made me seek help from a Dietitian.
I gained weight during pregnancy and could not get back to my initial weight and then the pandemic came as I was at home, food was a huge temptation, especially processed foods. My goal was to reach the weight I had before pregnancy, 60 kg although it's not my ideal weight. I chose Joana because we were colleagues for many years and I was already following her on social networks and I liked the way she talked about food.
2- What did you think about the nutrition consultations? Did you reach your goal?
Sara: I really enjoyed Joana's consultations, they helped me a lot in achieving my goal. I started in May and by the end of July I had already reached my goal, which was to lose 5 kg. In addition to the nutritional plan prepared by Joana, which includes walks combined with my work that is not sedentary, it helped me a lot. At this point I have already managed to lose another 2 kg that were part of another goal and I feel very good about myself.

My weight dropped from 90kg to 71kg, with Joana's help and orientation. I had tried fad diets and others before, but obviously it didn't work. This time, I lost weight in a healthier way. Hi Joana, I really want to thank you for all the support you have given me during the whole process of losing weigth. I started the first consultation in February this year (2017) and lost 14kg (this was my goal). What I was looking for when I started in February, was to lose weight in order to gain mobility because of my knee problem, the more weight I had, the more I was hindering my professional and personal life. My craving for sweets were changing my mood constantly and I also used to spend many hours without eating. At the first consultation I felt empathy for Joana's professionalism, friendly-manner and good sense of humor. My diet plan was always adapted to what I already ate with small changes that had a great effect on my weight loss. Joana always analyzed the changes that were making the diet plan and the effect it had on me. I was very impressed with the dedication that Joana had on sending emails regularly a follow-up plan, which had a big effect on the results. What else kept me motivated was sharing my weight weekly and receiving congratulations on my results. That made me always super proud of me and gave me more strength and motivation to continue. I relearned how to shop and to vary the foods I used to buy, challenging me to try different vegetables for example, and taking home only what is good for me.
